November 22, Zizania

Driven by a passion for rich improvisation and complex instrumentation, Zizania's Western Swingset captures the raw intensity and historical spirit of early jazz. Featuring virtuosic leads from Colorado-native and national western fiddle champion Jesse Quintana, the band is anchored in early American roots music. The addition of console steel, upright bass, archtop guitar, and oftentimes a full horn section tips a hat to the past while honoring the energy of the present in their electrifying live performances. Zizania's Western Swingset delivers a timeless experience by seamlessly blending fiddle breakdowns, blues ballads, New Orleans jazz, big band swing and early bop into an infectious, danceable art form.
